Professor Madelyn Dick received her PhD from Ohio State University, for her thesis, The Sachsenspiegel: A Preliminary Study for a Translation. Her research focuses on aspects of medieval history, with a specialty in German Middle Ages, and the medieval history of aristocratic women.

Professor Madelyn Dick received her PhD from Ohio State University, for her thesis, The Sachsenspiegel: A Preliminary Study for a Translation. Her research focuses on aspects of medieval history, with a specialty in German Middle Ages, and the medieval history of aristocratic women. In addition, research focused on teaching includes the Renaissance and Reformation, Byzantine history, the history of medieval Islam, the history of ideas (medieval and ancient), and the history of the world and globalization. Professor Dick is the author of Mater Spiritualis: The Life of Adelheid Abbess of Vilich, (1994).
