The central purposes of my work have been: 1) to reconstruct the stages of Karl Marx’s critique of capitalism in light of the most recent textual acquisitions of MEGA²; 2) to provide a new critical comparison between Marx and the 20th century’s Marxisms; 3) and to highlight the contemporary relevance of this theoretical tradition for pressing current issues. Amomg my other research interests there are Socialist thought, history of the labour movement, post-Hegelian philosophy, theories of alienation, and contemporary European politics - all topics on which I have published articles or have edited anthologies and collections.
