Penelope Reed Doob's recent books include The Idea of the Labyrinth from Classical Antiquity through the Middle Ages, The Uses of Manuscripts in Literary Studies, and Karen Kain: Movement Never Lies. She has also published widely in dance history and criticism and, in the medical field, on health-related quality of life assessment and HIV disease.

She teaches Poetry of the Early Modern Period 1500-1660.
